Botswana-Japan Friendship Association

Foundation of the Japan Botswana Friendship Association was a long-cherished desire of the Embassy of the Republic of Botswana in Japan as well as dedicated friends of Botswana who have a passion for further strengthening cordial relations that the two countries have enjoyed over the years.

Their goodwill and endeavour eventually evolved into establishment of the Association and its official launch took place on 30 September 2014 to coincide with the celebrations to mark the 48th Anniversary of Independence of Botswana.  The first President of the Association is Mr. Ryoichi Matsuyama, President of Japan National Tourism Organization and Former Ambassador of Japan to Botswana.
