Due to COVID-19, the Government of Botswana will not allow entry of citizens from the following countries into Botswana till further notice: China, Japan, South Korea, Iran, USA, UK, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and India.

Mandatory quarantine for 14 days for all Batswana and residents returning from high risk countries.
Due to the increase in the number of people infected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Asia, (China,Japan,Phillipines,South Korea and Thailand), all Batswana are advised to take the following precautionary measures;
a) Avoid contact with sick people and large gatherings
b) Avoid touching your eyes,nose,mouth, with unwashed hands
c) Clean your hands by often washing them with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60%-95% alcohol
d) Always wear a mask
e) Spare reasonable cash for emergency flight ticket
f) Stockpile food and bottled water
g) Immediately consult medical institutions when your body reaches temperature of 37.5 C or higher for four day,are feeling lethargic or experiencing shortness of breath
h) Inform your next of kin as soon as possible

All citizens of Botswana who are registered to vote in Japan for the 2019 General Elections are advised that voting shall be held on the 12th October, 2019 at the following polling station: Embassy of Botswana in Tokyo between the hours of 0900hrs in the morning and 1700hrs in the afternoon. Voters will cast their vote at the polling stations at which they are registered.
Voters are advised to bring their voter cards and valid national identity cards.
TICAD 7 Summit will be held in Yokohama, Japan from the 27-30th August 2019.The Conference will be attended by Africa leaders from the 55 African countries as well as the business sector and NGOs.On the side-lines of the Summit, will be the Japan–Africa Business Forum&Expo categorized into two:
1. Japan Fair
Leading Japanese companies who want to do business in Africa will be exhibiting their unique products and services for African countries. More than 150 Japanese will participate.
2. Africa Lounge
Consists of the following:
a) National Booth:
Space dedicated for African countries where the business opportunities and investment climate of each country will be showcased.
b) B2B Meeting space:
For exhibitors and visitors.
3. Event Stage:
Various thematic presentations are planned.
Each participating country including Botswana will have a National Booth to present their business opportunities and investment climates. The Booths will be provided for free.
Participants to bear own costs for return ticket, accommodation and meals.
